FUNDACIÓN MANANTIAL'S PROYECTS

As is well known, it is Fundación Manantial's desire to collaborate closely and as much as possible with the Social Care Plan for people with severe and chronic mental disorders for the years 2003-2007, developed by the Council for Families and Social Affairs of the Madrid Autonomous Region. Supporting this plan implies making an effort so that it will do well and be able to attain its objective, which is to establish a good social care resource network to complement the health care services received by people with mental illnesses in Madrid.

In LEGANÉS the first steps are being taken to build a residence for 30 people, as well as other resources for occupational rehabilitation and social support.

Regarding the creation of JOBS, another of the Foundation's obligations, there are several well advanced projects that will avail jobs to people with mental disorders within the structure of its special employment center, "Manantial Integra, SLU".

Specifically, there are two projects, one for the Secondary Manipulation of Medicine for the Pharmaceutical Industry and another one for the Maintenance and Preservation of Parks and Green Areas. It is expected that 16 people will be employed through these projects.

Other projects of the Foundation which are still in their early phases of development are:

- The Project for the Prevention of Mental Illnesses in children at risk (Casa Verde).

- More leisure time, through Holiday and Volunteering Programs.

- Granting an annual Award in acknowledgement of those initiatives which attempt to improve the lives of people with severe or persistent mental disorders (SPMD).
